I am a graduate of the University of Plymouth (UK) with an Honours Degree, BSc, in Computing and Informatics.
After graduating, in 1996, I set up a small software company with three other people to provide accounting and reporting tools for the Not for Profit sector, mainly development organisations in the developing countries. The software we developed was sold to a German company, CIWI GmbH, in 2001 and is now marketed as Fundtrac® (not to be confused with an Amercian product of the same name). Hobbies and other interests...
A keen amateur photographer, specialising in black and white using medium format cameras, although I occaisonally shoot colour in both 6x7cm and 35mm, usually transparency material. Music is an essential part of my life. My collections of CDs and vinyl (no it's not dead!) reflect my eclectic tastes in music, though I do tend to classical, especially piano virtuoso recordings. However, classical rock recordings and Jazz are also very much a part of my listening repertoire.
Did I mention that I like an occasional glass of beer (preferably German), wine, single malt, cognac....?
And yes, I do enjoy cooking. I have been the Chef de Cuisine at Chez Sutherland for several months now and even my wife will agree that meals have become, shall we say, more interesting. (My doctor, though, was less complimentary! )
